Loss of use of hand after cut from auto hubcap
An attorney sent an automobile hubcap which had cut his client's hand when he was searching for the tire valve stem while trying to put air in a tire. The cut was severe enough to cause loss of use of the hand.
I found the edge of the opening in the hubcap to be razor sharp and serrated like the blades of a food processor, the result of a manufacturing defect which caused the edge to be torn instead of sheared cleanly.
In my report to the attorney, I submitted photographs of raw carrots sliced paper thin by the sharp edge of the hubcap. The case settled without further discovery.
